an introduction to Accelerated Learner driving

Accelerated Learner driving is a quick and cost effective way for today’s learners to be taught to drive, take their practical driving test and gain a full licence – all within a few weeks rather than months!

When taking an Accelerated Learner driving course the student can progress more in one week than those who take weekly 1 hour lessons for perhaps a year or more.

The Driving Standards Agency leaflet “Safe Driving for Life” (click DSA link) advises that a new learner of average ability will need to take 45 hours, or more, of professional tuition then add to this over 20 hours of private practice to achieve driving test standard.

All youdrive crash courses, as they are sometimes known, are conducted on a 1-2-1 basis - a ratio of 1 STUDENT to 1 INSTRUCTOR. Actual in car driving/coaching will be of 3, 4 or 5 hours duration.

Courses normally run Monday - Friday between 10.00am to 6.00pm with regular comfort stops and a 30 min break for lunch for those on a 5 hour course. However, we will do our best to be flexible with timings where required.

For most people learning to drive, taking 1 or 2 hours a week is never enough. It will take many months, sometimes years, to achieve the required driving test standard.

For the majority of students once they sit behind the wheel for the first time they tend to catch the ‘driving bug’ brought on by the need to pass their driving test as quickly as possible. Accelerated Learning has become the standard remedy for these students.

At youdrive we offer a wide variety of crash courses. They have been designed to take into account the differing skills and knowledge base of potential students and are structured around the typical learner with average ability. We have also built flexibility into the courses which enables us to tailor the content and time if required.

We recommend that potential students undertake a driving assessment lesson to establish a more accurate guide to the type of Accelerated Learner driving course you require.

This can be arranged at a cost of £35.00 and will last for 1.5 hours. This will be deducted from your fee should you go on to book a course with us.
